Or who makes Bumbly Bears!
My name is Diane and I have lived in South Wales since late 1997 having moved from England where I was born. Like many bear artists I started with needle and thread at a young age making dolls clothes and then progressing on to making 'grown up' clothes for myself and eventually my children when they were young. In 1998 my friend Anna, who owns The Tuck Shop in Godshill, Isle of Wight (The Tuck Shop is actually a Teddy Bear Shop! Anna is also a Bear Artist and her work can be found in the shop as well as manufactured bears.) encouraged me to have a try at making a bear. The first bear off the production line was just about recognisable having been made in a stretchy faux fur. Things have progressed and now my bears are mainly in mohair. Anna occasionally has some of Bumbly Bears in her shop! Making teddy bears is a very satisfactory way of life!
